Why This Recipe is so good
This is a basic but totally delicious cookies and cream protein ice cream recipe. No pudding mix, sweetened condensed milk or cream cheese. It’s made with real milk and cream, your favorite protein powder, a bit of sugar and vanilla and of course Oreo cookies!
You really can’t go wrong with ice cream with oreo cookies. It’s such a good combo and this recipe is ridiculously easy to prep so you’ll always have a sweet treat waiting for you in the freezer.
Recipe Ingredients
- Milk and cream – Use full fat milk and heavy whipping cream to get the best ice cream consistency.
- Protein powder – I used Terra’s Bourbon vanilla whey protein powder. 1 serving has 22 grams of protein and makes this ice cream sooo good!
- Sugar – If your protein powder is sweetened use less sugar so your ice cream isn’t overly sweet.
- Oreo cookies – A must for this cookies and cream ice cream. I used 5 chocolate Oreos broken in half. After blending, stick a few more cookies into the ice cream for even more Oreo goodness.

Make ice cream base: Add milk and protein powder to a Ninja Creami pint container. Top with the lid securely, then shake until the protein powder has dissolved. Remove the lid then use a spoon to stir in heavy cream, sugar, vanilla bean paste and salt for 1 – 2 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved.
Freeze: Top pint container with a lid, then freeze for 22 – 24 hours on a level surface.
The next day: Remove the lid, then insert the pint container into the Ninja Creami outer bowl, then into the machine. Press the “ICE CREAM” button, then allow it to run through the cycle.
Mix in oreo cookies: Take a spoon to make a hole in the middle of the ice cream all the way the to bottom about 1 inch wide. Stuff Oreo cookies inside, then insert the pint container back into the ice cream machine. This time, press the “MIXIN” button.
