Equipment

  • Ninja Creami Ice Cream Machine
  • Ninja Creami Pint Containers
  • Reusable Ice Cream Storage Containers
  • Paper Ice Cream Storage Containers

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 serving vanilla protein powder I used whey protein powder, 1 servings is 2 scoops for 22grams of protein
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup white granulated sugar or cane sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste or pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 5 Oreo cookies broken in half, plus a couple more cookies for serving

Instructions

  • Note: My protein powder is slightly sweetened; if you are using unsweetened protein powder, increase the sugar to ⅓ cup.
  • Add milk and protein powder to a Ninja Creami pint container. Top with the lid securely, then shake until the protein powder has dissolved.
1 cup whole milk, 1 serving vanilla protein powder
  • Remove the lid, then use a spoon to stir in heavy cream, sugar, vanilla bean paste, and salt for 1 - 2 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. Top the pint container with a lid, then freeze for 22 - 24 hours on a level surface.
½ cup heavy cream, ¼ cup white granulated sugar or cane sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste, 1 pinch salt
  • Remove the lid, then insert the pint container into the Ninja creami outer bowl, then into the machine. Press the “ICE CREAM” button, then allow it to run through the cycle.
  • Use a spoon to make a hole in the middle of the ice cream all the way to the bottom, about 1 inch wide. Stuff Oreo cookies inside the hole, then insert the pint container back into the ice cream machine. This time, press the “MIX-IN” button.
    5 Oreo cookies
  • Serve cookies and cream protein ice cream immediately or pop it back into the freezer for 15- 30 minutes to firm up a little before serving.

Notes

How To Store/ Make Ahead

Frozen unblended pints will last in the freezer for 2-3 months. After blending for 1 - 2 months. Sometimes they can become freezer-burnt or super icy if left in the freezer after blending for too long.

Store blended ice cream in reusable ice cream containers or these paper ice cream containers. So you can save your Ninja Creami pint containers for more ice cream creations.

Tips and Tricks

If your ice cream isn’t smooth after the first cycle through the machine, run it through the RE-SPIN cycle with a splash of cream or milk until it reaches your desired consistency.
Protein powder: Swap out the vanilla protein powder for unsweetened or Oreo-flavored to increase the Oreo flavor.
Serving ideas: Whipped cream, crushed oreo cookies, rainbow sprinkles or chocolate sprinkles, mini chocolate chips or sugar cones or waffle cones.
