Recipe Ingredients
- Matcha powder – Use ceremonial grade matcha powder for the best tasting matcha latte. It is bright green with a smooth grassy taste. Culinary grade matcha powder is great to use for baking, but not drinks since it can be bitter tasting with a brownish-green color.
- Raw honey – Has a ton of flavor and naturally sweetens this matcha latte.
- Flaky salt – just a pinch!
- Oatmilk – Makes this honey matcha latte extra creamy and delicious. Substitute with almond milk, soy milk or dairy milk if you prefer.
How to Make A Salted Honey Matcha Latte
All ingredients, measurements, and instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

In a matcha bowl or small bowl whisk together matcha powder and warm water with a bamboo whisk or an electric milk frother until frothy. Stir in honey and flaky salt until dissolved.
Fill a large glass halfway with ice, pour over the milk and your prepared matcha mixture. Stir and enjoy.
Tips and Tricks
Honey doesn’t dissolve easily in cold drinks. It will seize up in clumps so make sure to add it to the warm matcha before combining with the milk or use a honey syrup. This Honey Lavender Syrup makes delicious matcha lattes.
You don’t have to use flakey salt but if you are using fine salt make sure to add just a tiny bit since it’s easier to oversalt when using fine ground salt.
Ceremonial grade matcha really does make your lattes better. It’s more expensive to buy than culinary grade but it has a much better flavor and color.
