Equipment

  • Cocktail muddler
  • Mason jar with a lid
  • Small bowl or matcha bowl
  • Bamboo matcha whisk or an electric milk frother

Ingredients

  • 3 - 4 strawberries washed with the stems removed
  • 6 - 8 ounces oatmilk or the milk of your choice
  • 1 serving of protein powder I used vanilla whey protein powder. 1 serving was 2 scoops for 22 grams of protein
  • 3 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 ½ teaspoon matcha powder ceremonial grade
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  • Note: My protein powder is already sweetened. If you are using unsweetened protein powder, add as much sweetener as desired.
  • Muddle the strawberries in a serving glass. Then top with ice. Set aside.
  • In a mason jar add milk and protein powder. Top with a lid then shake until combined. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl or matcha bowl whisk together warm water and matcha powder using a bamboo whisk or a milk frother until the matcha is smooth and frothy.
  • Pour protein milk over the muddled strawberries and ice then pour over the matcha. Stir and enjoy!

Notes

Tips and Tricks

  • Using a cocktail muddler makes mashing the strawberries so much easier.
  • Add the milk to a jar with a lid or a protein shaker bottle to combine the protein powder. I found an electric milk frother didn’t combine the protein powder properly and left it chunky.
  • Add more sweetener if you enjoy sweeter drinks. My protein powder was sweetened with stevia and I found it to be sweet enough for me. If you are using unsweetened protein powder add sugar, maple syrup or a drizzle of honey as desired.
  • Milk: swap out the oat milk for your favorite dairy or nondairy milk such as almond milk or soy milk.
